The City of Eden and the Eden River Development Committee have worked very hard over the past several years to locate and develop river access sites in Eden. These sites have been built to benefit our citizens and to help promote tourism around the two wonderful rivers that run through the city.
Open seven days a week all year round, just like the rivers your guides will help you explore. Canoe and kayak rentals are available as well as boat and equipment sales, river camping, boating, and equipment sales and service.
Our rivers are a source of recreation, a serene getaway, and a valuable life source. The best way to enjoy them is safely and with respect. It’s each and every visitor’s duty to learn the rules of the river, safety standards and natural preservation practices.
Covered Bridge Pier
First created in 1832, the pier is a longstanding landmark of our town. Learn about its history and where you can find it along the Dan River.
The slowly rolling Dan River is ideal for wildlife and birding enthusiasts alike. In the spring and summer, you’ll spot a variety of birds including the Eastern Wood-Pewee, Hooded Warbler, Summer Tanager, Barred Owl, Belted Kingfisher, and Red-Shouldered or Red-tailed Hawks.
